The Federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Ali Jatoi has asked Balochistan government to take strict actions against the miscreants involved in damaging power installations. The minister also took up the matter with governor and the chief minister after receiving reports of damage to Wapda installations in the province and stated that these were national assets and their safety is very important.

He stated that such incidents are creating serious problems for the masses as routine, commercial and industrial activities were suspended due to the power breakdown for hours.

The blasts on transmission line has also caused a loss of million of rupees to the national economy. The minister requested the Governor and CM of Balochistan to take action against the miscreants and provide security to the power installations for uninterrupted electricity supply to the people and the commercial and industrial sector.

According to a press release, governor and chief minister of Balochistan assured the minister that the government would provide complete security to the power installation and would be protected at any cost.

Jatoi also directed chairman Wapda, member power and the chief executive Qesco to immediately repair the damaged transmission line and restore the electricity for the people at the earliest. The minister directed them to personally supervise the rehabilitation activities of the destroyed transmission lines and repair it on emergent basis. The power supply should be restored within shortest possible time, he further directed.-PR
